We know all about viruses and they’re a pain. Therefore, if size does not matter for you, this is a handy tool to use alongside your normal anti-virus program as a second opinion. Regardless of the size, the program does a decent job of finding infections on your computer and removing them for free. In the description from Sophos they state that this is a "little tool", but at a size of 78MB this program is larger than many full featured anti-virus programs. It is not a full-fledged anti-virus program, though, so you will not get the extra benefits or real-time protection, web protection, etc. As this program only scans your computer and remove any infections it finds, it can be used even if you have another anti-virus product installed. If any infections are found it will attempt to remove them for free. The Sophos Virus Removal Tool is a stand-alone program that allows you to perform a quick scan of your computer for computer viruses.
